Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle shape, about 1/4-inch thick.
Evenly spread the marinara sauce over the rolled-out dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, then add the pepperoni, crumbled sausage, sliced bell peppers, and sliced onions evenly over the cheese.
Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the entire filling.
Carefully roll the dough away from you, tucking in the sides to completely enclose the fillings, ensuring the seam side is down.
Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the top with olive oil, then apply the beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm with additional marinara sauce.
Notes
For added flavor, consider crushed red pepper flakes or garlic powder. Customize fillings with ingredients like mushrooms, spinach, or olives. For a crispy outer layer, make small slits on top before baking.
