Ambrosia Salad

A delightful and refreshing fruit salad made with a medley of fruits, marshmallows, and cream, perfect for potlucks and gatherings.

Ingredients

Fruits and Base Ingredients

  • 1 can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup Cool Whip can be substituted with whipped cream or yogurt
  • 1 cup sweet cherries, halved
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) e.g., pecans or walnuts

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks, mini marshmallows, and sweet cherries.
  • Gently fold in the Cool Whip until all ingredients are well coated.
  • If using, add the shredded coconut and chopped nuts. Fold them in gently.
  • Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

Ambrosia Salad is best served chilled. Garnish with extra nuts or coconut for an appealing look and surprise crunch. It can last for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, but is best enjoyed fresh.
