Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon until well combined.
  • In another bowl, mix applesauce, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Combine the wet mixture into the dry ingredients; stir gently until just blended.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing; optionally dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze for about three months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
