  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced apples Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar until combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Can be refrigerated for up to a week or frozen for up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
