Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar until combined.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and pecans.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm, possibly with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature; refrigerate for a week or freeze for three months. Wrap tightly to prevent freezer burn. Optionally, add a pinch of lemon juice to the apples for freshness and to prevent browning.
