  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Use overripe bananas for sweetness
  • 1/2 cup almond butter Can substitute with sunflower seed butter for nut-free option
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder Can be substituted with carob powder for variation
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Optional sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips Optional for added indulgence

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until they are completely smooth.
  • Add the almond butter, cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt to the mashed bananas. Mix until everything is fully combined.
  • If you're feeling indulgent, fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares and serving.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or freeze for up to a month. Enjoy with vanilla yogurt or almond butter.
