  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 6 cups fresh broccoli (chopped)
  • 8 strips bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • 1 medium red or yellow bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1/2 red onion (chopped)
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, brown sugar, and white vinegar. Chill in the refrigerator.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine broccoli, bacon, bell pepper, red onion, cheddar cheese, and almonds.
  • Season with salt and pepper, then add the chilled dressing and mix well.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Toasting the almonds before adding them to the salad enhances their flavor and crunchiness.
