  • 1 lb ground chicken You can substitute with ground turkey or lean ground beef.
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning Adjust for spiciness according to preference.
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can also use pepper jack for extra spice.
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns Butter and toast them.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground chicken until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the Cajun seasoning, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and chicken broth to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • While the sauce is simmering, butter the sandwich buns and toast them until golden brown.
  • Once thickened, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and gooey.
  • Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture generously onto the toasted buns and serve hot.

Notes

To store leftovers, allow the chicken mixture to cool completely and transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days. Toast buns before reassembling for the best texture.
