Preparation and Cooking
Grease a square baking pan and set aside.
In a saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
Continue boiling for about 5 minutes without stirring.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, salt, and chopped apples.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Let it cool at room temperature and cut into squares.
