  • 4 slices thick French or Italian bread Alternatively, use sourdough, ciabatta, or whole wheat bread.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding oil if desired. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side, ensuring it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • In a small bowl, melt the butter and mix in the minced garlic.
  • Spread the garlic butter on each slice of bread.

Assembly

  • Layer on the cooked chicken pieces, then top with mozzarella cheese before adding another slice of buttered bread on top.

Baking

  • Bake the assembled sandwiches in your preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm, sliced in half if desired.

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken breasts in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, and herbs before cooking.
