  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices thick slices French or Italian bread
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding oil if desired.
  • Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides, roughly 6-7 minutes per side, ensuring it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • In a bowl, melt the butter and mix in the minced garlic (and herbs if desired).
  • Spread the garlic butter on each slice of bread.

Assembly

  • Layer the cooked chicken pieces on the bread and top with mozzarella cheese before adding another slice of buttered bread on top.

Baking

  • Bake the assembled sandwiches for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm, sliced in half if desired.
