Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Consider using brown sugar for richer flavor
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon For topping
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar For topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.

Baking

  • Spread the cookie dough into the prepared baking dish evenly.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar for the topping, then sprinkle it evenly over the cookie dough.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan, then cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce for a gourmet treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days.
