Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans to avoid sticking.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, espresso powder (if using), salt, and cocoa powder until well combined.
In another bowl, combine the Guinness and the remaining wet ingredients. Mix them together until smooth.
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
Baking
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and place them in the oven.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Once baked, allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans before frosting.
Frosting
For the Baileys Buttercream Frosting, beat together butter and powdered sugar in a bowl until fluffy.
Add Baileys until you achieve your desired consistency. Frost the cooled cake generously.
Serving
Serve your Chocolate Guinness Cake at room temperature, either as a whole cake or in slices.
It pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Garnish with chocolate shavings or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for that extra touch of elegance.
Notes
Ensure that your ingredients are at room temperature for best mixing results. Sift your dry ingredients to avoid lumps. For deeper chocolate flavor, consider adding a splash of strong brewed coffee. Do not rush the cooling process.
