Ingredients

For the Bars

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Make sure to measure correctly to avoid dry bars.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk For drizzling over the bars.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add in the milk and mix until smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon with the remaining sugar and sprinkle it over the batter.
  • Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter for that beautiful marbled effect.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Finishing Touch

  • Let the bars cool before drizzling with a glaze made from powdered sugar and a splash of milk.
  • Cut into bars and serve warm.

Notes

Serve these bars warm with coffee or tea. You can add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
