Instructions
Preparation
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until well blended.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; small lumps are fine.
Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity halfway.
Cooking
Place the pan in the air fryer basket and cook at 350°F for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
Check the donuts at 5 minutes with a toothpick inserted into the center.
Finishing Touch
While the donuts are cooking, mix the coating: combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Transfer warm donuts to a wire rack, then dip each into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Serve warm for the best experience.
Notes
Best enjoyed the same day they're made; can be stored in an airtight container for 24 hours. To refresh, reheat in the air fryer.
