Ingredients

Banana Bread Base

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Ensure they are very ripe for sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Can adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Can substitute with white sugar.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  • Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.

Cinnamon Mixture

  • In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture on top, then pour the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  • Swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  • Bake for about 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Best served warm, toasted with butter, and pairs well with coffee or tea. You can add nuts, chocolate chips, or other spices like nutmeg for variations.
