Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut Lightly toast for enhanced flavor.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

For Frying

  • neutral oil (vegetable or canola) For frying until golden brown.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine cake flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and desiccated coconut.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the melted butter.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into strips.

Cooking

  • Twist the strips and deep fry until golden brown.
  • Let cool and serve with condensed milk drizzled on top.

Notes

Best served warm or at room temperature. Pair with tea or coffee. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
