Ingredients

French Toast

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 slices thick bread (like Texas Toast)
  • 2 heaping cups crispy rice cereal (or crushed corn flakes)

Instructions

  • Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F or heat a skillet over medium heat. Add cereal to a shallow dish. Whisk together all ingredients except the bread and cornflakes.
  • Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture then press into the cereal. Cook in a buttered skillet until golden on both sides.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup or honey.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top before serving.
