  • 1 pound Ground beef or turkey Can substitute with ground chicken, pork or plant-based meat
  • 2 cups Cooked rice Can use leftover rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for low-carb
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce For mixing with the filling
  • 1 cup Cheese Different types can be used for varied flavors
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper To taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For sautéing

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Sauté chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
  • Add ground beef or turkey and cook until browned.
  • Stir in cooked rice and tomato sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Chop bell peppers and mix into the filling.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and top with cheese.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

Serve hot straight from the oven. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or basil for added presentation. Pairs well with a side salad or crusty bread. For storage, leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
