For the apple filling

A mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples is recommended for depth of flavor.

Instructions
Preparation
Gather all the ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, toss the sliced apples with the white sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Transfer the mixture into a 9-inch square baking dish.
Topping
In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oats, flour, and remaining 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Cut the cold butter into this mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Baking
Spread the oat mixture over the apples, patting it down gently until even.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful treat. Can store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
