Ingredients

For the pizza pockets

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or other favorite toppings) alternative toppings can include mushrooms, bell peppers, sausage, etc.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste olive oil or melted butter, for brushing
  • to taste Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the crescent roll dough or pizza dough on a floured surface.
  • Cut it into rectangles, about 4x6 inches each.
  • Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each rectangle.
  • Add a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, followed by your choice of toppings.
  • Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning for added flavor.
  • Carefully fold the dough over the fillings, ensuring to seal the edges tightly.
  • Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These pizza pockets can be served with extra pizza sauce for dipping, a side salad, or some cut-up veggies. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or frozen for up to 2 months.
