French Onion Butter Rice

  • 2 cups rice Use white or brown rice as preferred.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Can substitute with olive oil or vegan butter.
  • 2 large onions, caramelized Caramelize slowly for best flavor.
  • 4 cups broth (chicken or vegetable) Use high-quality broth for enhanced flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish) Adds color and freshness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add the caramelized onions and cook for a couple of minutes until heated through.
  • Stir in the rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to get coated in the butter.
  • Add the broth, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Fluff rice with a fork, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of broth or water over low heat.
