  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 15.25 oz box Funfetti cake mix
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3-4 tbsp sprinkles
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

Buttercream Frosting

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Gel icing color optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the vanilla buttercream by mixing butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add cream as needed for the right consistency, then pipe swirls of frosting on the outer edge of the cookie cake.
  • Store the cookie cake in an airtight container. It can be kept at room temperature for about 24 hours, then refrigerated. Serve at room temperature for the best texture.
