Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 oz package marshmallows or 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in the spices (ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves), vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well coated.
  • Using a buttered spatula or your hands, press the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
  • Optional: decorate with icing or festive sprinkles.

Notes

Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also refrigerate or freeze them for longer storage, letting them come back to room temperature before serving again. Adjust spices to taste for a stronger flavor.
