Ingredients
Cheese Mixture

sharp Cheddar cheese, grated from a block

cup
butter, room temperature
Ensure it is softened for easy mixing.

heavy cream

egg, room temperature

Worcestershire sauce

teaspoon
salt

teaspoon
dry mustard

teaspoon
ground cayenne pepper
Bread

white sandwich bread slices
Trim the crusts before cutting.

smoked paprika
For garnish, optional.
Instructions
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Trim the crusts off the bread and cut each slice into four squares. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat the cheese and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until well-blended.
Add heavy cream, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper. Mix until smooth.
Spread approximately 1 teaspoon of the cheese mixture on half of the bread squares.
Top these squares with the remaining bread squares to form little sandwiches.
Carefully spread the rest of the cheese mixture over the tops and sides of the sandwiches.
Place the sandwiches, 1 inch apart, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
Bake at 375°F for about 15 minutes or until they become golden brown.
Optionally, dust the tops with smoked paprika for an added flavor kick.
Notes
Serve hot, paired with soup or salad. Store leftover Cheese Dreams in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
