  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 250 ml warm water Warm, not hot
  • 750 ml all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  • Make a well in the center, add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and roll out as desired for your pizza.

Notes

If you have leftover pizza dough, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To use refrigerated dough, let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before shaping and baking. You can also freeze the dough for up to 3 months.
