Ingredients

For the shrimp

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh shrimp for best flavor; thaw completely if using frozen.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated

For serving

  • 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Steamed until tender.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to create the sauce.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Add the shrimp to the pan and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and cook for an additional 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Steaming and Serving

  • In another pot, steam the broccoli until tender.
  • To serve, place the shrimp over cooked rice or quinoa, topped with steamed broccoli and chopped green onions.

Notes

These bowls are best served warm. Garnish with sesame seeds or extra honey for additional flavor. Consider adding chopped nuts or additional vegetables for extra crunch.
