Preparation
In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, ketchup, ginger, garlic, and black pepper to create the marinade.
Add the chicken to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
Grilling
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off.
