  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped Adjust spice level by removing seeds for milder flavor.
  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded Can substitute with other cheeses like cheddar or gouda.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns Toast on grill or skillet if desired.
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, and extra jalapeños

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped jalapeño, pepper jack cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until just combined, then form the mixture into patties.
  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Cook patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Toast burger buns on the grill or skillet if desired.

Notes

For leftovers, store cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Uncooked patties can be frozen for up to 3 months.
