Ingredients

Frosting Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is at room temperature.
  • 4 cups powdered sugar Sift before adding to avoid lumps.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Use high-quality pure maple syrup for richer flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Ensure it's alcohol-free if making vegan.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Optional, for adjusting consistency.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  • Add the maple syrup and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  • If the frosting is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or pastries.

Notes

For storage, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Allow to reach room temperature and re-whip before using.
