  • 12 ounces tortellini pasta
  • ½ pound Italian ground sausage
  • ½ medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 24 ounces pizza sauce

Preparation

  • Boil tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onions in olive oil until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, for about 7-8 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Season the mixture with Italian seasoning and stir to combine.
  • Drain any excess grease from the meat and return it to the skillet.
  • Stir in the pizza sauce and cooked tortellini, mixing everything well. Bring to a simmer.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese and sliced pepperoni. Cover the skillet, turn off the heat, and let the steam melt the cheese for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

To serve, scoop generous portions onto plates and pair with a side salad or garlic bread. For a nice touch, consider adding a sprinkle of fresh basil or oregano on top.
