Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage Italian sausage is recommended for more flavor.
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 ounces spaghetti Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Divided for layering.
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Assembly

  • In a baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, followed by the sausage and marinara mixture, then the cheese mixture.
  • Top with the remaining spaghetti and the rest of the mozzarella cheese.

Baking

  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs like basil or parsley. Pairs well with a crisp green salad and garlic bread.
