  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

How to Make Mini Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts

  • Preheat the oven to 350F degrees and spray a mini doughnut pan with non-stick cooking spray. Prepare multiple pans if needed.
  • Whisk together flour, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Combine wet ingredients like melted butter, sugars, egg, vanilla, sour cream, and buttermilk in another bowl. Mix well.
  • Blend the wet and dry ingredients together, then pipe the batter into doughnut pan cavities.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes until firm. Cool in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Brush doughnuts with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

For an extra kick, sprinkle some chopped pecans or almonds on the doughnuts before serving.
