  • 1 cup Rice Long-grain white rice or jasmine/basmati for added flavor.
  • 1 cup Chicken broth or water Use broth for enhanced flavor.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.

Optional ingredients

  • 1 cup Vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli Add during the last few minutes of cooking.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add to the skillet. Cook until browned.
  • Add chopped onions and garlic, and sauté until soft.

Cooking

  • Stir in the honey BBQ sauce and rice.
  • Pour in chicken broth or water, bringing to a simmer.
  • Cover and cook until the rice is tender and the chicken is cooked through.
  • Optional: Add vegetables during the last few minutes of cooking.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the dish cool completely and transfer it to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
