Delicious, buttery, and cheesy snacks or appetizers that are easy to make from scratch and perfect for dipping in marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Use high-quality flour for best results.
  • 3/4 cup Warm water Should be around 110°F (43°C) for yeast activation.
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast Ensure yeast is fresh for the dough to rise properly.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For dough preparation.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor.

Garlic Butter Spread

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, room temperature Creams well with other ingredients.
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic Add more for stronger flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Blend of dried herbs.
  • 1 tablespoon Dried parsley Fresh parsley can be used for better flavor.

Topping

  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese Freshly grated for best meltability.

For serving

  • 1 cup Marinara sauce Warm for dipping.

Instructions

Dough Preparation

  • Grease a large sheet pan with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray.
  • Prepare the dough according to your pizza dough recipe, mixing flour, water, yeast, olive oil, and salt. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough gently and move to a floured surface.
  • Cut the dough into approximately 1-inch pieces and place them on the greased baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart. Cover loosely and let them rest for about 30 minutes.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine room temperature unsalted butter, minced garlic, salt, Italian seasoning, and parsley until creamy.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Baking

  • Brush the garlic butter generously over the risen dough bites. Reserve some for later.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and brush with the remaining garlic butter while still hot. Sprinkle grated Parmesan on top immediately.

Serving

  • Serve the bread bites warm, best paired with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Store leftover bread bites in an airtight container. They last up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
