  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 to 4 cups chopped veggies of choice
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 2/3 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (or half and half)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, or more, to taste
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped, for garnish

How to Make Pasta Primavera

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions. Set aside.
  • Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic, stir, add veggies, season, sauté until tender.
  • Add butter, pour in chicken broth and cream, simmer, stir in cheese, season with salt and pepper.
  • Add pasta and veggies to the pan, toss, top with fresh basil.
