  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, chopped
  • 2-4 pieces habanero peppers, chopped Adjust based on heat preference
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar To taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the chopped pineapple, habanero peppers, white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and lime juice.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Transfer to a bottle or jar and refrigerate.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Will last for several weeks. Shake before each use. Adjust the heat by controlling the number of habanero peppers used. For a smoky flavor, roast the habanero peppers before blending. For a thicker sauce, simmer longer to achieve desired consistency.
