Vanilla Dough
170gramsunsalted butter, cold, roughly chopped
200gramscaster sugar or granulated sugar
1teaspoonvanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
1largeegg
175gramsplain flour or all-purpose flour
1/4teaspoonbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
Chocolate Dough
140gramsplain flour or all-purpose flour
30gramscocoa powder, sifted
1/4teaspoonbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
1-2teaspoonsfull-fat or whole milk
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Add the egg and mix until combined.
Divide the butter mixture in half for the vanilla and chocolate dough.
Mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt for each dough separately until a thick dough forms.
Roll out the dough into rectangular shapes, stack them together, and roll into a log.
Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
