S'mores Dip

A gooey and decadent dip capturing the classic flavors of s'mores with chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers.

Ingredients

For the dip

  • 1 tablespoon butter For greasing the skillet
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or mixed) Or broken up milk chocolate bars
  • 15 jumbo marshmallows Halved for topping
  • Graham cracker squares For serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Adjust the rack to the center position of the oven and place an 8-inch cast iron skillet inside.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) with the skillet inside.
  • Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot skillet using a pot holder.
  • Add a pat of butter to the skillet and swirl it to coat the bottom and sides.
  • Pour chocolate chips in an even layer into the bottom of the skillet.
  • Arrange marshmallow halves over the surface of the chocolate fully covering it.
  • Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until the marshmallows are toasted to your liking.
  • Use a pot holder to remove the skillet and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve immediately with graham cracker squares or sticks. Caution: the dip and skillet will be hot!

Notes

S'mores Dip is best served warm. For added flair, sprinkle a bit of sea salt or crushed graham crackers on top just before serving. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
