  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

How to Make Smothered Chicken

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the chicken thighs on both sides. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until softened.
  • Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic, cook until golden.
  • Slowly pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly. Add heavy cream, thyme, rosemary, and paprika. Return the chicken to the skillet.
  • Cover and simmer until chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
