Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 cup tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 to 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 10-20 slices chorizo sausage (use mild or spicy)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • a few fresh basil leaves or parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a pizza peel or a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Topping the Pizza

  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border along the edges.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously across the sauce.
  • Layer the chorizo slices on top of the cheese. Optionally, sprinkle oregano and garlic powder for added flavor.

Baking

  • Carefully transfer the pizza into the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

Serving

  • Slice the pizza into wedges and serve hot, optionally garnishing with fresh basil leaves or parsley.

Notes

Allow leftover pizza to cool completely before storing. Wrap in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze slices tightly wrapped against freezer burn.
