Ingredients

For the filling

  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed completely before use
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped Can use frozen spinach, thawed and excess moisture removed
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil Optional for brushing

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the chopped spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut the pastry into long strips.
  • Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture on one end of each strip.
  • Fold the pastry over to create a seal and twist the strips to form a spiral.
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm with your favorite dip.

Notes

These twists are best enjoyed warm. They pair well with dips such as tzatziki, hummus, or a spicy marinara. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
