  • 1 medium onion, chopped Yellow or white onion recommended.
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped Any color of bell pepper can be used.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Choose your preferred flavor of barbecue sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds depth to the flavor.

  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Soft hamburger buns work best.

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

Adding Vegetables

  • Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Making the Sauce

  • Add barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Serve the mixture on hamburger buns topped with cheddar cheese and pickles, if desired.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave. Avoid storing assembled burgers as buns can become soggy.
