Ingredients

Seafood Filling

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 lb lump crab meat Choose good quality seafood; fresh or frozen works.
  • 0.5 lb cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 0.33 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup green onions, finely chopped

Bread Bowl

  • 1 round loaf sourdough or French bread Ideal for a sturdy and delicious bread bowl.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella cheese, lump crab meat, chopped shrimp, and green onions. Mix until well combined.
  • Hollow out a bread bowl and fill it with the seafood mixture.
  • Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the seafood mixture is heated through and the top is golden.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a fresh side salad or crispy vegetable sticks. This dish works wonderfully as an appetizer or finger food for parties. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
