Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm water Temperature should be around 110°F (43°C)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
  • 1 cup refried beans (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup jalapeños (optional, for extra spice)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 1/2 cup salsa (or guacamole)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Prepare the pizza dough by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.

Cooking

  • While the dough rises, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 5 minutes and set aside.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a greased baking dish. Spread a thin layer of refried beans over the dough.
  • Sprinkle the seasoned ground beef evenly over the beans, then top with shredded cheese.
  • Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Serving

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, black olives, onions, and jalapeños.
  • Drizzle with sour cream or salsa before serving. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

Serve hot and allow guests to customize their slices with additional salsa, guacamole, or sour cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
