Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a large bowl, beat the egg with the sugar and lemon zest until creamy.
  • Add the softened butter and mix well.
  • In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt (if using).
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  • Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
