  • 1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly Use against the grain for tenderness
  • 1 piece bell pepper (red or green), sliced Can use any variety based on preference
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth Can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce can be used
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Adjust for desired sauce thickness
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Cooking

  • In a large pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned.
  • Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, and cook until they are tender.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the pan and stir well. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Best served immediately while hot. Pair with white rice or noodles to soak up the sauce.
