Ingredients

For the Grilled Prawns

  • 12 large large prawns (or giant shrimp), cleaned
  • 1 small bunch fresh parsley, chopped
  • 100 g butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 unit lemon, juice of half
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Carefully remove the dorsal vein from the prawns while keeping the heads and shells on.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the chopped garlic, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush olive oil on the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Grilling

  • Generously brush each prawn with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Grill the prawns on the hot grill for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Serving

  • Transfer the grilled prawns to a serving dish and drizzle with leftover melted garlic butter.
  • Serve with lemon wedges for a zesty touch.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the prawns in the garlic butter mixture for 30 minutes before grilling. Use a toothpick to secure the prawns to prevent curling while cooking. For spice, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
