Ingredients

Tuna Mixture

  • 2 cans 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained Make sure the tuna is well-drained.
  • ½ cup ½ cup breadcrumbs Regular or panko breadcrumbs can be used.
  • ¼ cup ¼ cup mayonnaise Add more for a softer patty.
  • 1 piece 1 egg Large egg preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard For flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon garlic powder Enhances taste.
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon onion powder Enhances taste.
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon ¼ teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.

Cheese and Vegetables

  • ½ cup ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with Swiss cheese.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped For a fresh flavor.

Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon butter For cooking the patties.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese and chopped green onions. Form the mixture into 4-5 evenly shaped patties.

Cooking

  • Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty for 3-4 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Serve the patties on toasted bread, English muffins, or alongside a fresh salad. For an extra cheesy finish, you can top them with cheese and place them under the broiler for a minute.

Notes

If you have leftover patties, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
